For those who missed the registration dates, we still have space available in many of our Pre-registered Programs.  See list of programs HERE.  To join, simply arrive to the first class 15 minutes early with your exact cash payment and see Cindy to register.  Please note that Watercolour is FULL.

Proof of Membership is required to participate in our programs.  Visit the Thornhill Community Centre reception desk (by the Library) to activate your City of Markham Seniors Club Membership.  Contact Customer Service at 905-477-5530 or send them an email if you have any questions.

A Message from the President of the Thornhill Seniors Club

“Although the past few years have been difficult for many of us due to the pandemic, I am so pleased that our Club has rebounded beyond my expectations.  This was only possible with the dedication of our amazing Volunteers, including the Front desk, Cafe, Administration and the many Activity Convenors who share their valuable time to help deliver quality programs and services to our Members.  We sincerely thank each and every one of you for your service.

In the past year we have seen our Club change and grow in amazing ways.  We’ve listened to Membership feedback to help create new programs that interest them.  What was once a fitness class of 10 has turned into 40 or more (we love that people are getting out of the house and being active again!).  The demand for Seniors Pickleball has exploded (a BIG thank you to our VP, Don Tai and to City Programmer, Brian Bailey for heading up our new Pickleball committee).  Our Heintzman House social events have sold out within days with A+ reviews and our Travel department had no trouble filling the busses.

Overall, we are incredibly proud to be meeting the current needs of Seniors in our community.  Thank you to all returning and new Members for your participation.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy Holiday to everyone.  I look forward to seeing you again in 2023.”

Due to the expected inclement weather, TSC is CANCELLING ALL PROGRAMS for Friday Dec 23rd, including front desk and Cafe.  Kindly share this information with fellow Members who do not have access to the internet.

TSC will reopen on January 9th after the two week holiday break.

Due to numerous requests for Pickleball during this week’s limited Holiday Schedule, TSC is pleased to offer our Members two fun, social tournaments on Wed Dec 21st.  Fee to participate is one TSC card punch upon arrival.  Don Tai will be convening.

Each tournament is limited to 24 so Pre-Registration is required, either by phone at 905-477-5530 (8am-5pm Mon-Fri) OR online at markham.ca, OR in-person at the Thornhill Community Centre main reception desk by the library.  Tournament details below:

TSC will then be closed for two weeks beginning Dec 26 and re-opening Jan 9.  No activities will run during this period and the Front Desk and Cafe will also be closed.

A reminder to ticket holders that our Holiday Brunch is tomorrow – Wednesday Dec 14th, at the Heintzman House located at 135 Baythorn Dr at Royal Orchard.  Have your ticket ready and enter through the back door by the parking lot.  Doors open at 11:15am.

You must be a current TSC Member to join.  Payment by cash only.  Please bring exact as we may not have change.  Space is limited.

A reminder to ticket holders that our Holiday Lunch is tomorrow – Thursday Dec 8th, at the Heintzman House located at 135 Baythorn Dr at Royal Orchard. 

Doors open at 12:00pm.  Please do not arrive earlier than 12:00 as the doors will remain locked while we set up.

Everyone will be seated according to the reserved table number indicated on your ticket.  Please have it ready to show when you arrive.  See you there!

Table Tennis 8-11am and 3-5pm will be cancelled on Tuesday Dec 6th due to divider wall repairs.  No other programs are cancelled.
