To celebrate Spring, TSC Members are invited to Glynnwood Retirement Residence to pick up a complimentary fresh baked banana walnut loaf or a 2-pack of 5” butter and lemon tarts!

In keeping with COVID safety protocols, this will be an outdoor event by appointment only.  Simply drive or walk up to the main entrance of Glynnwood at 7700 Bayview Ave. during your pick-up time and your packaged selection will be safely brought out to you.  Limited appointments available between 1-3pm on Tues March 23, Wed March 24 and Fri March 26.  Call or email Sandy Greene at Glynnwood to reserve your selection and schedule your time:  (289) 982-0123 or sandy.greene@reveraliving.com

The Province’s online portal and an accompanying phone line are set to start taking appointments on Monday March 15 at 8 a.m.  Ontario residents aged 80+ or 60-64 can book online at http://www.ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by phone at 1-888-999-6488.  First and second vaccination appointments will be arranged at the same time.

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour on Saturday night.  Daylight Saving Time takes effect at 2am on Sunday March 14th.

Markham Fire and Emergency Services recommends that you also inspect and replace batteries on your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

TSC Member and avid table tennis player, Asteris Gonidis, celebrates his 101st birthday on March 13th.

Asteris is doing well and can’t wait to get back to the Club to play with his many friends.  He is an inspiration to us all.

With a heavy heart we report the peaceful passing of TSC Volunteer, Larry Knight, on Wednesday February 17th at MacKenzie Health Palliative Care where he was surrounded by family – his daughter Lesley, son Adam, mom Betty and partner Anne.

Larry was a very active Member of TSC where he enjoyed Pickleball, Carpet Bowling and Darts as well as volunteering in our Cafe on Friday afternoons until his illness made it too difficult.

Larry will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his many friends at TSC. Please feel free to leave your comments.
