Reopening January 31st

Good news!  The City of Markham will begin easing COVID-19 restrictions as of January 31st.  This includes the reopening of the Thornhill Community Centre and the return of TSC programs and activities.  We will post more information early next week after we confirm a few details.  Stay tuned and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Walk in Vaccines Available

We have been advised that the COVID-19 Immunization Clinic at the Aaniin Community Centre has significant availability for WALK IN appointments today until 6:30 p.m. tonight.  Availability is for 1st, 2nd and 3rd doses.  For those 30 and older, Moderna is available and for those under 30, Pfizer is available.
Please feel free to drop in at the clinic and share this information with your family and friends. The Aaniin Community Centre is located at 5665 14th Avenue, Markham.

Temporary Closure Announced

Due to new Provincial regulations, the City of Markham has announced that the Thornhill Community Centre and Library will temporarily close on Wednesday January 5th for a period of at least 21 days – until Jan 26th.  No TSC programs will be offered during this time.

We have postponed the start dates of our pre-registered Winter programs until after the reopening.  These include Zumba Gold, Yoga, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Watercolour, Beginner Line Dance, Bridge Lessons and Wellness.  Start dates will be communicated closer to reopening.

Please share this information with fellow members and stay tuned for further updates.

No Yoga or Line Dance Today

Later today, the City of Markham will announce the status of Winter Programs based on new government COVID-19 restrictions which will take effect tomorrow. We will post the information to the website as soon as it becomes available.

For now we have decided to delay the start of our Yoga, Chair Yoga and Beginner Line Dance Sessions, which were scheduled to begin today. All participants have been contacted by phone or email and informed of this change. We will communicate the new start date once we have more information from the City.

All drop-in programs that were scheduled for today – Snooker, Table Tennis, Pickleball and MahJong, will continue to run, so please drop by and enjoy as you may not be back for a while. Don’t forget your proof of vaccine with QR Code.

We will update you later today on the status of the remainder of our Winter programs. Please stay tuned and kindly share the info with fellow members who may not have access to the internet and encourage those who do to follow our blog by email.
