In the Winter of 2022, TSC introduced an inclement weather program cancellation policy: if York Region school busses were cancelled, we would cancel our programs.  Our Wellness Exercise group was already following this arrangement.

Shortly thereafter we received many complaints from Members who felt this policy was resulting in unnecessary cancellation of their programs.  It is true that – as York Region covers a vast area – Georgina, for example, may have been snowed under while Thornhill only received a light dusting. It was clear that school bus cancellations in the region would not work well as the deciding factor in the cancellation of the majority our programs.

So while our Wellness group will continue to follow this policy, we decided the best solution for the remainder of TSC activities is to follow Thornhill Community Centre programming cancellations.  If City programs in the community centre are cancelled due to weather, we will cancel ours as well.   Of course, TSC will also cancel pre-registered programs if our instructors of Yoga, Zumba, Osteofit, Line Dance, etc, are unable to make it in.

TSC Program cancellations due to weather will be posted to the website with as much notice as possible, usually by 7am the morning of, if not the night before.  Be sure to FOLLOW OUR BLOG VIA EMAIL to receive these notices as they go up, and kindly spread the word to fellow members who may not have access to the internet.  

As of Thursday morning, all TSC programs are running as usual

For those with tickets to the sold out Rama trip on Wednesday Feb 1st, the bus will leave TSC at 9:30am.  Please do not arrive earlier than 8:30.  There will be a 50/50 draw in the Seniors Lounge at around 9.

Please park in the West lot (facing Bayview) or the North lot (facing Green Lane), NOT in the South or East lots by the Seniors Centre entrance.  We need to keep these spots available for Members attending programs that day.

The bus is scheduled to return to TSC at approx. 3:30pm.

The snow has ended so all TSC programs will run as usual today, with the exception of Table Tennis & Snooker which will not begin until 9am to give facility staff time to clear snow around the building.
