We have just received the following message from the City of Markham regarding reopening:
“On July 16, the Province entered Step Three of its Roadmap to Reopen. The Government of Ontario’s decision to move to Step Three of the reopening plan is based on the continual improvement to public health and health care indicators, provincewide vaccination rates and consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
Currently, the City of Markham has reopened select outdoor amenities and recreational facilities, including Morgan Park Outdoor Pool and Rouge River Outdoor Pool. The Markham Pan Am Centre Pool is scheduled to open on July 21. In addition, the City of Markham continues to offer a variety of outdoor, in-person and virtual programs to help keep you active and engaged – safely.
At this time, City-owned community centres (including TSC), our indoor tennis facility, indoor soccer domes, indoor arenas, indoor pools, fitness centres, the Markham Museum, the Flato Markham Theatre and the Varley Art Gallery remain closed. Once the City finalizes its reopening plan for the Fall, details will be shared publicly.
