Fall Prevention Roadshow

fallDid you know that falls are the leading cause of injury for seniors?  Statistics show that 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will fall once every year, and falls are the main reason why older adults lose their independence.

The Markham Stouffville Hospital Falls Prevention Roadshow is coming to TSC on October 22.  Sign up at the Front Desk to learn how to protect yourself and those you care about.  $2.00 registration fee includes refreshments.  Click HERE for details.

Thank you to Canterbury Place for providing the delicious salads and desserts, and to Gloria O’Shell and her team of Volunteers for all their hard work.

Stratford Trip

stratsignOn Thursday, August 29 2019, TSC Members travelled to the Stratford Festival Theatre and enjoyed seeing Billy Elliot The Musical.  We enjoyed a very appetizing and delicious lunch, before seeing BILLY ELLIOT, at the Historic Inn & Suites in THE PARLOUR and specifically the Churchill dining room.  We were served a three course meal including beverages.  The dessert was top-drawer.  It was called PAVLOVA.  How impressive.  A Pavlova is a dessert commonly believed to be named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.  It is meringue-based with a crisp crust and soft, light custard inside, usually topped with fruit and whipped cream.  – Doreen Manning
